Messe Frankfurt India Launches Electrical Building Technology India Trade Fair

New Trade Fair to Take Place Alongside Light India in 2016

After establishing a strong foothold in the lighting and automation sectors through its leading trade fair brands – Light India, LED Expo, SPS Automation India, Control & Motek India, Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India Pvt. Ltd. continues its growth streak in India by bringing this expertise to the building technology sector. The Indian subsidiary of one of the world’s leading trade fair organisers announced its plans of launching the Electrical Building Technology India today.

The new fair targeting electrical engineering and building automation technologies will make its debut on 5 – 7 October 2016 at Pragati Maidan, alongside the premier Light India trade fair in New Delhi.

India’s smart cities vision has finally begun to take shape with the government’s ambitious 100 smart cities programme. For the home automation and lighting industries, this is the most opportune time to launch the show in India. The country’s rapid economic growth and metropolitan shift are making developers go beyond conventional luxury living concepts into ones that represent the standards of the future with integrated communications, better comfort, accessibility and safety.

Amidst the recent infrastructure developments, many existing cities will be remodelled as the government’s new Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme is committed to spend INR 50,000 crore (USD 8 billion) over the next five years for 500 cities and towns.

Against this lucrative background, the combined fairs targeting pivotal segments of electrical engineering, building and home automation technologies such as: smart home and community management systems, building efficiency and energy management systems, light control systems, video surveillance, access control and home security systems, hotel intelligent systems and products, audio/video will present a specialised business venue. Designers, architects, building contractors, developers, engineers, government decision-makers and project planners can interact and team up with technology players for their future-oriented building design and construction ventures.

Considering the massive growth in construction and inefficiencies, buildings alone contribute to about 40 percent of the world’s total carbon footprint. Lighting is one of the key segments that can bring down power consumption and energy expenditures. Together with the apex body of Lighting Manufacturers in India – ELCOMA, Messe Frankfurt India has been involved in the promotion and adoption of energy-efficient technologies over the years. The German trade fair organiser’s vast expertise in organising the globally renowned Light + Building brand and its robust global network will also benefit the segment by bringing the innovators and leaders of lighting and building technologies to India.

Speaking about the new launch, Mr. Raj Manek, Executive Director and Board Member of Messe Frankfurt Asia Holding Ltd, said: “Prioritising energy efficiency and automation in building design and construction have come to be of vital importance today. Even the lighting field is dominated by technologies that focus on energy management and digital integration. Merging these high growth sectors through the Electrical Building Technology India and our industry-leading Light India fair will create valuable synergies and draw attention to innovations in the fields of lighting, electrical engineering, home and building automation for the Indian market, which is in the prime stage of planning smart cities.”

The premier edition that will bring technology experts from both building systems and lighting sides in the capital city amidst decision makers would thus play an important role in highlighting the future of Electrical Building Technology in India. The co-located fairs will take place from 5 – 7 October 2016 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

Electrical Building Technology India is a part of Messe Frankfurt’s building and energy shows, headed by the biennial Light + Building event in Frankfurt, Germany, which will take place from 13 – 18 March 2016. Additionally, light and building fairs will also be hosted in Argentina, the United Arab Emirates, Russia and China.
