The convenience of remote access for customer service
KNX is one of the most widely accepted standards worldwide for building automation and control systems. The most diverse functions in a house are combined here and can be visualised and controlled centrally and conveniently via a platform: all electrical equipment, lighting, shading or security systems, for instance.
Now Stiebel Eltron’s heating systems can also be integrated conveniently. This has been implemented using a software extension for the Internet Service Gateway, which has already made intelligent communication with the heating system possible.
Up until now it had been possible to integrate the heat pump into the home network relatively simply via the Internet router using the Internet Service Gateway from Stiebel Eltron, ISG for short.
There are no difficulties at all in accessing Stiebel Eltron heat pump heating systems as before in your web browser via the Internet Service Gateway – here the LWZ 304 / 404 air heat control panel, which also takes care of aeration and ventilation in the building. Now integration into the KNX building automation system is easy to achieve.
Users can now take the next step and have their system completely integrated into the KNX building automation system. All that is needed is remote access by customer service. KNX IP capability is installed as a software extension – an official KNX product. Then around 100 operating parameters and device data become available via KNX IP.
This solution makes Stiebel Eltron the first company in the heating sector to implement what is already standard in other industries: extending device functionality over the Internet. Extensions are planned to provide further functions.
