Weinzierl Introduces Compact KNX Devices Supporting KNX IP Secure at ISE 2019

Stand 9-F120, ISE 2019

• KNX IP Interface 732 secure and KNX IP Router 752 secure to improve security for KNX installations
• Compact size with 18mm width, powered by the KNX Bus

After the introduction of one of the first KNX devices supporting KNX Data Security at light+building 2018, Weinzierl Engineering GmbH introduces two compact devices supporting KNX IP Security. The KNX IP Interface 732 secure and the KNX IP Router 752 secure are both powered by the KNX bus and are the smallest KNX devices on the market supporting KNX IP Security. Both devices will be launched at ISE/Amsterdam 2019 and will become commercially available in Q1 2019.

Secure interface: KNX IP Interface 732 secure

The KNX IP Interface 732 secure serves as a secure interface between a LAN (IP, Ethernet) and KNX and can be used as a programming interface for the ETS®. As a KNX Secure Interface (tunneling), the device prevents unauthorized access to the system. The connection between PC and interface is encrypted. The security option can be activated or deactivated in the ETS.

With the KNX IP Interface 732 secure, the KNX bus can be accessed from any point in the LAN. Encryption also enables secure programming over the Internet.

Secure routing: KNX IP Router 752 secure

The KNX IP Router 752 secure enables the secure forwarding (routing) of telegrams between different lines over a LAN (IP, Ethernet) as a fast backbone. As a secure router, the device enables the connection of unsecured communications on a KNX TP line with a secure IP backbone. The KNX IP Router 752 secure has an extended filter table for main group 0..31 and can cache up to 150 telegrams.

The device also serves as a secure interface between IP (Ethernet) and KNX and can be used as a programming interface for the ETS®. As a KNX Secure Interface (tunneling), the device prevents unauthorized access to the system. The connection between PC and interface is encrypted.

With the KNX IP Router 752 secure, the KNX bus can be accessed from any point in the LAN. Encryption also enables secure programming over the Internet. The security option can be activated or deactivated in the ETS.

About KNX Secure

Home and building automation with KNX is proven, trusted and highly reliable. In addition, KNX Secure meets even the highest encryption standards (such as AES 128 CCM encryption) in order to effectively prevent attacks on the digital infrastructure of buildings and to achieve the highest level of data protection.

KNX Secure guarantees maximum protection by offering a double protection. KNX IP Secure extends the IP protocol in such a way that all transferred telegrams and data are completely encrypted – enabling security within IP with compatibility with existing TP and RF installations. KNX Data Secure effectively protects user data against unauthorized access and manipulation by means of encryption and authentication by enabling security between secure KNX devices.
