Shanghai Intelligent Building Technology Opens Next Week

New thematic zones aim to promote the latest in energy efficiency and intelligent building development

Scheduled seminars focus on innovative solutions for intelligent building’s growth

The Shanghai Intelligent Building Technology fair celebrates its 7th edition with the opening of the 2013 show next week. Taking places from 25 – 27 September, this year the exhibition features several significant highlights, confirming its status as the most comprehensive annual platform on intelligent building technology for the East China market. One of the show’s newest features is its new venue, the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, a state-of-the-art exhibition area located in Shanghai’s Pudong district. By moving the show to this fairground, Messe Frankfurt furthers the process of bringing its Shanghai building technology shows together under one roof.

Once again, the show will be jointly organised by Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt Co Ltd, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade – Shanghai Pudong Sub-Council and Shanghai Hongshan Exhibition Service Co Ltd. Through their combined efforts, more than 130 suppliers are confirmed to participate, utilising 10,000 sqm of exhibition space, a 67% increase from the 2012 edition.

Ms Lucia Wong, Deputy General Manager, Messe Frankfurt Shanghai Co Ltd shared: “The 2013 show will truly be one of our best shows to date. In addition to an increased scale, we have received the support of a number of influential industry associations. Apart from well-established association partners such as KNX, EnOcean and LonMark, the organisations Z-Wave Alliance, China Hotel Engineering Alliance, China Cabling Team (C-TEAM) as well as Infoforum.RU have all added their support to the fair. I believe the show can and will be a great asset towards the development of smart homes and intelligent buildings in East China.”

In terms of exhibitors, the 2013 edition has secured several leading industry brands, including Control4, Delta Dore, Thermokon, Fantem, Vee Yi Smart Tech, Ruixun, WIT-TECH, DOOYA, IISFREE, HDL, Levoice and ORVIBO.

New thematic zones aim to promote the latest in energy efficiency and intelligent building development

Energy conservation and efficiency are two of the biggest topics currently in China’s property and infrastructure development market. To aid developers and associated professionals in property and infrastructure development, the Shanghai fair has developed two new thematic zones, designed around the show’s core themes of Building Energy Efficiency, Intelligent Cities and Smart Homes:

Building Energy Saving, Energy Management & Building Automation Zone

Supported by the Committee of China Energy Conservation Association, the zone will feature over 10 leading enterprises focused on products and solutions in energy conservation and management as well as automation technology.

Generic Cabling Zone

Co-organised with China Cabling Team (C-TEAM) and Modern Architecture Electric Magazine, the zone will host several leading brands in cabling products and accessories, such as Molex Trading, Putian Telege, UCS and Wavhigh Technology. The zone will also play host to the Intelligent Building and Cabling Systems Forum, an event discussing the latest trends on technologies and products in smart city development and in the cabling industry.

Scheduled seminars focus on innovative solutions for intelligent building’s growth

One of the most unique aspects to the Shanghai show is the series of fringe events held alongside the main exhibition each year.
The show’s seminar lineup showcases the latest technological advancements from the industry, while also allowing experts and end users to meet, network and exchange ideas for greater future growth. Some of the events scheduled for 2013 include:

2013 China Hotel Management/Engineering Management Forum

Co-organised with the China Hotel Engineering Alliance, the forum serves as a platform for showcasing energy conservation and management within the hotel sector.
The application of integrated building technology in lighting control and HVAC systems as well as other energy-efficient products will also be presented within this forum.

Safe and Smart City: Solutions for Safe City and Intelligent Building

A symposium organised to highlight issues in the use and implementation of complex IT solutions for building security systems. With the support of co-organiser, the Russian National Forum for Information Security (INFOFORUM), the event will discuss several leading industry topics, such as:

Complex solutions for the Construction of Smart and Safe City systems

The use of audio and video surveillance systems for the identification of individuals

Innovative solutions for transport management, traffic flows control and safety on transport

2013 Zigbee Technology Smart Home High Level Forum: Challenge and opportunity in the IoT times

Co-organised with the Smart Home Developer Alliance, the seminar will introduce case studies on the application of the zigbee standard for adding intelligent features to building and home automation systems, remote control devices as well as smart energy systems.

Visitors to the 2013 show will also have the chance to explore the event, ISH Shanghai & CIHE – Shanghai International Trade Fair for Heating, Ventilation & Air-Conditioning. Held concurrently with the intelligent building show, ISH Shanghai & CIHE will cover HVAC automatic control systems as well as a series of building products and solutions that utilise renewable energy. Attendees to both events will have the chance to explore available synergies between these two integral components to green and intelligent building development.

Shanghai Intelligent Building Technology is the sister show of Guangzhou Electrical Building Technology and Beijing International Building Technology. The fair is also a part of Messe Frankfurt’s building and energy shows, headed by the biennial Light + Building event, which will take place from 30 March – 4 April 2014 in Frankfurt, Germany.
