MATELEC, FENIE and KNX Spain Announce Energy Efficiency Installation Awards

The competition is open to any installation company and/or integrator with projects completed between 1 November 2012 and 31 August 2014 to improve the energy efficiency of buildings or homes

The International Trade Fair for the Electrical and Electronics Industry (MATELEC 2014) – organised by IFEMA and to be held from 28 to 31 October 2014 at FERIA DE MADRID – together with the Spanish National Federation of Electrical and Telecommunications Installation Business Leaders (FENIE) and the KNX Spain Association, are organising the Energy Efficiency Installation Awards in order to recognise those projects of an outstanding nature that make a major contribution to energy efficiency in the fields of residential housing, domotics and building management.

MATELEC, FENIE and KNX Spain Energy Efficiency Installation Awards

Energy efficiency in homes and buildings is a key factor in achieving the sustainable use of energy resources and protecting the environment. Installation companies and/or integrators play a fundamental role in this regard through the installation of control and automation systems in homes and buildings with recognition under international standards. In recognition of this work, FENIE – together with MATELEC and the KNX Spain Association – is presenting the Energy Efficiency Installation Awards, for which candidates may enter in one or more of the following categories:

* FENIE Award: Installations in any type of building or home using any type of technology.
* Domotic Installation Award: Installations in a residential home/building using mainly KNX standards.
* Building Management Installation Award: Installations in a service or industrial building using mainly KNX standards.

For this competition, the scope of the installation is not what matters but rather the number of different applications involved in the project, the contribution made by the installation to energy efficiency, the innovative potential of the solutions that contribute to energy efficiency, the flexibility for potential expansion of the installation in the future and the ease with which the installation can be used by the end user.

Participation is free and the competition is open to any installation company and/or integrator capable of demonstrating they have installed and/or integrated a project in a home or building for the purpose of improving the energy efficiency of said home or building. The project must be based on control and automation technology that is recognised by international standards and must have been completed between 1 November 2012 and 31 August 2014.

The panel will nominate three finalists in each category, which will be presented on free display panels at the FENIE booth (Hall 8) and the KNX booth (between Halls 4 and 6) on every day of the MATELEC 2014 trade show in order to raise the profile of the company in question among specialists in the sector. Furthermore, the three winners will be announced during the course of the trade show and will each receive 500 euros in cash, an ETS5 Professional licence – worth 900 euros – and a trophy.
