As has become a tradition, the KNX Association supported the International Competition Worldskills. On this occasion, KNX had the opportunity to contribute at WorldSkills Americas 2014 which was held in Bogota (Colombia). This Latin American event featured more than 300 experts and competitors, who did their best to show their competences to the nearly 30,000 daily attendees visiting the 40,000m² space reserved for the competition.
The KNX Association supported the skill18, Electrical Installations category, in which the competitors had to realise a KNX installation based on KNX technology. Competitors enjoyed making the KNX installation, consisting of the design, commissioning and programming of a single house.
Ten countries participated in this skill: Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Chile, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama and Paraguay. They all showed high interest in KNX and the KNX Association congratulates all participants, and in particular to the winners Brazil and Colombia. For their efforts in the competition, the KNX Association awarded all competitors and experts with a free license of the ETS4 software, so that they can expand their knowledge and spread the reach of KNX technology across the continent. WorldSkills Americas Bogotá 2014 exceeded all expectations by bringing together more than 120,000 people, and so KNX is already looking forward to the next competition in Mexico!
