B.E.G. Expands UK Sales Team with new KNX Specialist

Lighting controls manufacturer B.E.G. has expanded its UK sales team with the hiring of Stephen Payne as its new Systems Sales Manager.

Stephen will work with electrical consultants, system integrators and engineers in both the public and private sectors in the UK and Ireland. He will primarily focus on providing end users with PIR presence and motion detectors, DALI and KNX lighting solutions.

He arrives at B.E.G. with a wealth of experience after 13 years at Timeguard, a Theben Group Company, as its KNX Sales Manager. Stephen has also worked at ABB Controls, Klockner Moeller and MEM.

Stephen says he is looking forward to taking up his new position with B.E.G. who celebrated their 40th anniversary last year, and aims to make the German manufacturer the ‘number one’ choice for detectors in the lighting control market.

Speaking about his appointment, he said: “The transition from incandescent to low energy (CFL) and now to LED provides one of the biggest opportunities and challenges in the building controls market today.

“I have been involved with KNX for more than 10 years in the UK and it has been fantastic to see how KNX has grown into the force it has become in recent years.

“I like the positive attitude of B.E.G. and their products. Their range of detectors is phenomenal covering 230v, KNX, LON and DALI with new products in the pipeline.

“I also see the great importance of DALI especially in the commercial sector. The fact that B.E.G. can bring these two great systems together provides new opportunities for UK and Irish specifiers and customers.

“My aim is to increase the market share of B.E.G. in the KNX and DALI systems market and to make their products the number one choice for detectors.”
