KNX UK Names Mark Warburton, Director, Ivory egg as its 2021 Champion

The KNX UK Association has named Ivory Egg director Mark Warburton as its 2021 Champion.

The KNX UK Champion is chosen from individuals nominated by their peers among the KNX UK membership, and is recognition of a commitment to promoting the open, global , secure KNX standard throughout the industry and among potential new users. This year’s winner’s career to date combines experience of working as an integrator with leading one of the UK’s go-to wholesalers: Mark Warburton has seen KNX from all sides.

Drawing on his extensive knowledge of the KNX ecosystem, Mark is able to guide and support integrators as they deliver world leading projects. Working closely with manufacturers, he also helps to develop best of breed products and solutions that match evolving customer demand and expectations.

A qualified KNX Tutor, Mark still manages to find time to maintain a steady flow of technical articles, which share his insights freely. Add to that his service as a member on the KNX UK board since 2019, and it is clear to see how Mark really is all over KNX in the UK.

His commitment to KNX is clear to anyone who meets him. It dates back to 2005 when he was working at the forefront of the custom install industry with one of the early adopters of KNX. Under his project direction, the firm began to build its proven track record in smart home installation, including a 61-unit apartment block in central London. Acclaimed work like this honed Mark’s skill in developing the cross-disciplinary collaboration we see on so many projects today.

During the past six years he has evolved into the role of Technical Director at Ivory Egg, the longest running KNX wholesaler in the UK. Under his leadership, the firm doubled down on its commitment to provide a solid base of support for system integrators, direct and via trade bodies. Ivory Egg now offers more and better training, support and access to online knowledge. His promotion in 2020 to Director of UK Operations (Ivory Egg, also has presence in Australasia) further reinforces that laser focus on systems integrators.
