JUNG announces new KNX DALI 2 actuator facilitating networking and modernisation

The new JUNG KNX DALI 2 actuator is the solution for tradespeople who want to modernise existing 1-10 volt installations and use both the advantages of the Digital Addressable Lighting Interface (DALI) and the security and flexibility of KNX Secure. The KNX DALI 2 actuator offers decisive advantages, especially when modernising older lighting control systems, as it efficiently integrates the existing infrastructure and at the same time expands the possibilities of modern lighting control.

Efficiency through DALI and KNX Secure

For electricians, modernising 1-10 volt systems is often a challenging task. These systems are widespread, but often no longer meet today’s requirements for flexibility and efficiency. However, a complete modernisation is usually complex and cost-intensive. This is where the JUNG KNX DALI 2 actuator comes into play: With its ability to continue to use the existing 1-10 volt infrastructure, it enables the installer to integrate modern lighting control without complex rewiring. This not only saves costs and effort, but also reduces downtime for the customer.

Four-channel multimaster for versatile applications

The JUNG KNX DALI 2 actuator is a four-channel multimaster device and is therefore ideal for a wide range of applications. Each of the four channels can control up to 32 DALI ballasts in the nominal case, which ensures height flexibility and simple expansion. Dynamic load distribution is possible. In the limit case, any two channels can be loaded with up to 40 DALI devices, whereby the total number of DALI devices connected to the device must not exceed 128. This can be a great advantage, especially in small and medium-sized projects, as no additional devices are required to control multiple luminaires or luminaire groups. Whether for individual rooms, office spaces or larger corridors – the actuator offers versatile application options and enables specialist installers to design efficient and modular lighting installations.

Convenience thanks to DALI functions: Tunable White and RGBW control

Another highlight of the JUNG KNX DALI 2 actuator is the support of modern DALI functions such as Tunable White, RGB and RGBW control. With Tunable White, the colour temperature of the lighting can be adjusted per time of day or desired mood, which not only provides a more pleasant lighting atmosphere, but also increases the concentration and well-being of the user. With RGB or RGBW control, dynamic lighting scenarios with different colours can be created, which are particularly suitable for prestigious or homely environments. For the installer, this means simple implementation of complex lighting solutions that previously often required complex controls and additional programming. With the JUNG KNX DALI 2 actuator, these functions can be integrated directly into the existing system without additional effort.

Safety and flexibility in one system

With the combination of DALI and KNX, the actuator from JUNG offers a reliable and safe solution for the control and management of lighting systems. DALI is a globally recognised standard for the digital control of lighting systems and enables the control of light sources. The KNX standard also offers an open system for building automation that enables secure, flexible and expandable control. The integration of KNX Secure makes communication in the building particularly secure, as it is protected against attacks from outside. The KNX DALI 2 actuator combines both standards to maximise security and flexibility. Installers can easily integrate it into existing KNX and DALI infrastructures and offer customers a modern and future-proof solution at the same time.

Simple installation without additional software

One of the biggest advantages for the installer is the simple installation and commissioning of the JUNG KNX DALI 2 actuator. Complex configuration with the DALI Commissioning Tool (DCA) is not necessary. This saves time and costs. The actuator can be integrated directly into the system and the configuration is carried out via the ETS. This means that tradespeople and planners do not have to deal with additional software or complex commissioning procedures. Installation is uncomplicated and the programming effort is reduced to a minimum.
