New hi-tech entertainment space for Het Jeroen Pit Huis
Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) has engaged support from its global community in a charitable project for the Emma Children’s Hospital in collaboration with the Amsterdam University Medical Centre. Multiple AV brands and a CEDIA Award-winning installer, Woelf, are working together to create an exciting entertainment room at Het Jeroen Pit Huis, a new transitional care unit for chronically ill children and their families in the grounds of Amsterdam University Medical Centre.
“We are pleased that we can use our industry connections, and those of our co-owners, CEDIA and AVIXA, to bring together the very best products, design and installation expertise to support this project and build something wonderful for a very worthy cause,” commented Mike Blackman, Managing Director of Integrated Systems Events. “This space will be a source of enjoyment, excitement and escape for all those staying at Het Jeroen Pit Huis. It’s a great project and will be a fitting, lasting legacy from the ISE community for the people of Amsterdam.”
“Children are our future, including those who are sick and in need of our support,” added Prof. Dr. Hans van Goudoever, Head of the Emma Children’s Hospital. “At Emma Children’s Hospital, we aim to maximise the possibilities of all chronically ill children to participate in our society.”
“RAI Amsterdam is proud to be part of ISE’s legacy to the city of Amsterdam,” said Paul Riemens, CEO of RAI Amsterdam. “Over the past 15 years, the RAI and ISE have created a partnership which has brought visitors, prosperity and enjoyment to the city. We are delighted to work together with Emma Children’s Hospital, the RAI’s chosen charity, on Het Jeroen Pit Huis in a project that will be valued and appreciated for many years to come.”
A presentation to mark the support of the project from the ISE community and RAI Amsterdam was made at ISE’s ‘¡Hola Barcelona!’ event, which took place in the RAI on Friday 14 February, the final day of ISE 2020. The building preparations for Het Jeroen Pit Huis are starting in Spring 2020, with completion scheduled for the end of 2021. The project is also supported by an ISE 2020 Platinum Sponsor, Crestron.
The Emma Children’s Hospital, part of the Amsterdam University Medical Centre, provides family integrated care. Its focus goes beyond the admitted child and includes the entire family. The Hospital’s paediatric medical doctors and nurses involve the parents in the care of the child and decisions on treatments are always made jointly. An important starting point is that the child and their family spend as much time as possible together. The donation from Integrated Systems Europe will help to fulfil the wish to develop facilities for severely chronically ill children, for whom the transition from their hospital to their home is difficult. In Het Jeroen Pit Huis families can stay with their chronically ill child who needs 24/7 medical care. Parents are educated and supported in making the transition so that their child can live at home.
