Panasonic and BAB TECHNOLOGIE Strengthen Partnership for TV-KNX Integration for Smart Home and Hotel Applications

With the IoT-KNX gateway ‘APP MODULE’ and the smart home app ‘Panasonic Connect Pro’, Panasonic and BAB TECHNOLOGIE offer versatile and cost-effective TV integration for KNX installations.

The seamless KNX connection with ‘Panasonic Connect Pro’ enables the control of a maximum of 10 TV sets with all smart home components such as wall buttons and building visualizations. Panasonic televisions can be integrated into smart home scenes – at the push of a button, for example, the blinds are lowered, the ambient lighting is activated and the television is switched on with the desired source selection and volume. In addition to the basic functions such as switching on and off, volume control or channel selection, individual text messages can be displayed on the TV via KNX commands when the doorbell rings or a window is opened. With the Panasonic TV remote control it is also possible to control KNX components or scenes. For example, if the doorbell rings, the TV remote control can be used to open a Smart Lock, switch on the lighting or activate the IP camera. Entire smart home scenes can also be started.

“After the extremely successful market launch of our smart home app, we received many requests and ideas from our customers. With ‘Panasonic Connect Pro’ we now offer a unique integration solution for Panasonic TVs in KNX Smart Homes. The new text displays and, above all, the ability to easily send control commands using the buttons on the remote control are highlights for me. Since it is possible to combine other apps installed on the ‘APP MODULE’ with ‘Panasonic Connect’, the connection with many other IoT components is possible. Philips Hue lights or Yamaha MusicCast speakers can be controlled via the television. Our solution is also very interesting for users without KNX or other bus systems,” explains Stefan Mainka, responsible for business development and marketing at BAB TECHNOLOGIE.

“We are very happy to have gained a strong cooperation partner in BAB TECHNOLOGIE who, like us, has the aim of placing the focus on the users and their individual needs. We have found an important partner who shares our values and is characterized by its innovative technologies,” says Dirk Schulze, Head of Product Marketing TV / Home AV at Panasonic Germany.

More than 60 smart home showrooms across Germany are equipped with the joint solution from Panasonic and BAB TECHNOLOGIE. In the ‘living space exhibitions’, customers can experience all the advantages of a smart home installation up close and receive detailed advice.
