Since its founding little over a year ago, membership of The Connected Lighting Alliance has more than tripled, an important showing of support for wireless connectivity standardization in the lighting industry. The Alliance recently recognized Tridonic as its 20th member.

“Following the endorsement of ZigBee Light Link for residential connected lighting solutions, and our scope extension to indoor professional lighting, we have seen an influx of new members. In the 2nd quarter of 2013, our alliance grew by 70%. New members include Tridonic, LG Electronics, Helvar, Harvard Engineering, GreenWave Reality, Frontline LED, Atmel, Fairchild Semiconductor, Marvell and ON Semiconductor” said Simon den Uijl, the Secretary General of The Connected Lighting Alliance.

“We are happy to be the 20th member of the alliance and to contribute to the success of the alliance. For us, it was clear that as an industry leader, we had to join our peers in the discussions regarding a common open wireless connectivity standard for the indoor professional market,” said Dr. Alfred Felder, CEO of Tridonic.

In addition, Daintree Networks decided to upgrade its status, thereby becoming the alliance’s 10th Regular Member. Regular Members enjoy full benefits of the alliance’s activities. An up-to-date overview of the alliance’s members can be found on the web site.
