The worldwide EMS market is forecasted to grow from $7.7 billion in 2013 to $24.2 billion in 2021. That means an average annual grow rate of 15%.
EMS for industrial customers is expected to grow faster than EMS for commercial buildings. Between 2013 and 2021, industrial EMS will grow 21% per year on average compared to 14% for commercial EMS. However, commercial EMS will be the larger market. Worldwide commercial EMS will reach $19.7 billion in 2021 compared to $4.4 billion for industrial uses.
The U.S., China, Japan and the Germany will be the largest EMS markets. In 2021, the U.S. is forecasted to spend $6.5 billion, followed by China with $3.1 billion, Japan with $1.6 billion, and Germany with $1.5 billion. These four countries will comprise 52% of the worldwide EMS market.
China, France and Mexico are expected to be the fastest-growing EMS markets. Between 2013 and 2021, China will grow 35% per year on average, followed by France with 25%, and Mexico with 22%.
