Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) is the premier event for the AV and systems integration industry. This year’s show took place 4-7 February 2025 at the Fira de Barcelona, and hosted 1605 exhibitors, among which was the impressive KNX stand that was strategically positioned near the main entrance of Hall 2. The stand featured areas for meetings, networking, and ETS demonstrations, and a massive section dedicated to the display panels of 29 member companies. Here are the highlights of those panels, in alphabetical order.

Among the ABB i-bus KNX control elements and sensors was the new ABB Trevion displays and keypads, designed to provide exceptional versatility and fit seamlessly into a wide range of ABB’s switch design ranges for flexibility in design, colour, and material selection. These include an integrated room temperature sensor and controller, and an animated multi-colour light guide. Also on show were upcoming additions to ABB’s presence detection portfolio, andthe KNX APP-Control Server digital multitool for entire building management through a smartphone or tablet, with optional voice control.

Accordia Cables showed a full range of TP1 KNX-certified cables. All two-pair cables are stranded to a star quad for minimum crosstalk, with a small lay length for improved EMC. Each type is CPR certified up to Euroclass B2ca-s1,d1,a1. There is also the AllWeather version for outdoor use.

Airzone showed the Aidoo KNX Inverter/VRF, the Aidoo KNX Air-to-Water, and the KNX Airzone Integration Gateway, all of which are designed to integrate HVAC systems into KNX with a quick and straightforward process, and no coding required. The Aidoo KNX Air-to-Water enables two-way communication with air-to-water units, allowing integration into the KNX system to manage production, control temperature, and the ability to program your system efficiently. All of these products are available now.

Pioneer in industrial automation, Berghof Automation GmbH showed the B-Primis DC-Pi Prime, a Raspberry-Pi-based CODESYS display PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) with AI accelerator that will be available in Q2 2025. It enables AI to be integrated into the CODESYS PLC, creating connectivity between the simple world of classic PLC control and the advanced methods of the future. These include minimising training, familiarisation and set-up times and reducing downtimes through predictive maintenance and condition monitoring. The product’s image processing options in combination with simple cameras enable the monitoring and optimisation of production processes as well as the early detection of process errors.

Among the Can’nX products on show were water management solutions with online monitoring of water consumption, water distribution anomaly detection, swimming pool status and control via KNX. For energy management, the Can’nX Emergy’nX system optimisation is supported based on energy pricing, solar production, battery level and weather, with an intuitive online energy dashboard, automatic control and data-driven decisions. These products are available now.

Cascoda demonstrated KNX IoT infrastructure and products. These included environment sensors, actuators and controllers, all connected using IP6-based low-power wireless mesh networks (Thread) and batteries that last for more than 5 years. Also on show was a KNX IoT hub that allows KNX Classic and KNX IoT devices to be mixed, with configuration using the new ETS6.3.

Italiana Conduttori (aka CAVEL) presented Italian-made Twisted Pair EIB/KNX bus cables, which are manufactured near Pavia, Italy. These high-quality coaxial and LAN cables are offered under the CAVEL brand. Models CKNX280C and KNX180C feature LS0H-FR jackets and Cca CPR certification.

Control4 showed how KNX technologies can be integrated and controlled using an attractive and customer-friendly user interface in the form of the Control4 system, leading to an enhanced user experience and growing business opportunities for integrators. The highlight was the Control4 Halo family of remotes, T4 touchscreens and the latest Control4 CORE controllers, all of which are available now.

Creatrol, which specialises in millimetre-wave radar sensors for human-centric perception systems that enable presence, motion, distance, location, number of people, fall, posture, and direction detection, showcased its full KNX product line at ISE. These non-intrusive, privacy-protecting solutions are designed to seamlessly integrate sensors in order to enhance smart building and home systems, providing proactive and comfortable control whilst transforming intelligence into seamless experiences for smart cities.

Eelectron presented some of its latest innovation, with special attention placed on the OL-U range of keypads, and the elegant and sophisticated glass finishes of the 9025 Matte line. Also on show was an expanded portfolio with new KNX Secure products and enhanced connectivity options, including IP bridges and MQTT protocol integration. In addition, a hospitality range was on show, plus new multifunctional actuators for even more efficient room management.

Guangzhou Seawin Electrical Technologies Co., Ltd. showed KNX push button keypads, an actuator, a touchscreen, and sensors. Focus was on a new keypad with ink screen and RGBW indicator, and which can use NFC (Near-field Communication) technology to change the screen icon and text. This keypad does not require auxiliary power and will be available in April 2025.

Following on from its Waltz series of control panels, GVS showed the new KNX Smart Touch S series panels, designed to be user- and system integration-friendly, the range includes the S-push button sensor with display, plus the S10, S7 and S3 all-in one panels with smart home, intercom and app server for smart and simple operation. These products integrate with KNX and the SIP video intercom standard and can be easily customised by integrators as well as users.

Hangzhou Binthen Intelligence Technology Co.,LTD showed motors for curtains that can be controlled by KNX through ETS directly. The company was keen to highlight the many projects for which these products have been used, including villas, hotels and homes. Its key selling points are that its products are designed to be high quality at a good price, and that the products have multiple countries’ certifications.

HMS Networks presented a range of gateways and integration products. These included the IN770AIRXXSO000 for integrating HVAC systems with Modbus, KNX, BACnet, and home automation; the INKNXUNI001I200 for monitoring and controlling AC units from KNX installations; the IN701KNX100O000 for integrating serial and IP protocols with KNX; the INKNXDAI001I000 for connecting Daikin AC units with KNX; the INKNXMEB0100000 for integrating M-Bus devices with KNX; and the INKNXDAL0640300 for integrating DALI-2 ballasts into KNX systems.

HPE Networking Instant On showed switches and Wi-Fi 6/6E access points for speedy, secure and reliable smart wireless coverage for smart spaces and small businesses. They are managed via smartphone or cloud portal, with connectivity for up to 125 devices and are designed to be easy to set up, with no hidden fees and 90 days post-purchase support. The main highlight was the rugged all-weather IP67-rated outdoor Instant On AP27 access point that operates in temperatures between -40°C and 65°C.

Iluxus Design showcased a new range of KNX and conventional handmade switches from 1-12 gangs with RGB lights and brass finishes, KNX touch buttons, a KNX dimmer that can be rotated and pressed, and a new user interface for the EOZ Touchpanel. Also on show were 8, 16- and 24-channel actuators, plus 320mA and 1280mA power supplies and customisable hospitality solutions. These included conventional and KNX switches that can be placed on the wall and bedside units.

Among the products on the Interra Technology panel were its new high-end series for smart key applications and the iX10 touchpanel. Available now, the iX10 is designed to manage an entire automation system from one central point. It is capable of controlling a range of systems including switches, sensors, lighting, heating, cameras, and alarms, and can be controlled by mobile device by downloading the Interra Pro app from the App Store or Google Play. Its main features include automation control, a timer, security control, logic operations, push notifications, IoT device support and voice control.

IT GmbH has developed KNX tools for simplifying the operation and maintenance of a KNX installation. Among these are the Record and Analyze Tool, the Health Monitor and the Topology Check. The company has also developed ETS apps to simplify and accelerate day-to-day ETS tasks, plus the Elvis 3 visualisation software designed to connect, control and visualise the most comprehensive building systems.

For ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) applications, Letour (Beile (Xiamen) Intelligent Technology Company) showed a range of products including actuators, a smart touch panel+SIP system, push buttons, and a KNX-tuya system. The smart touch panel is available in 4”, 5.5” and 10.1” versions and includes built-in offline AI voice command support. This provides a secure and faster way to control lighting, switching and dimming using the voice.

In addition to celebrating 40 years in electronics, the theme for MDT at ISE 2025 was ‘Offer your customers simple energy-saving solutions.’ To this end, MDT presented actuators and sensors, including the Shutter Actuator and the Shutter push-button Smart for automatic shading depending on the position of the sun, in order to protect against overheating. Also showcased was a selection from the company’s ‘Smart in black’ range of switches as well as the Glass Touch Smart touchpanel.

The NETxAutomation panel at ISE 2025 provided a brief overview of the functionality of the NETx BMS Platform and its potential in building automation. It includes a multiprotocol gateway, visualisation, alarm management, trending, reporting, scheduler, logic engine, lighting/DALI management, automatic shading control, IoT, and Web interface. It integrates diverse network technologies into a unified model, enabling transparent management and global control for efficient automation.

Optimus Solutions showed touchpanels, switch and touch sensors, combined actuators, digital inputs, an LED driver, a power supply, multisensors, a logic module, an IP Secure router, a line coupler, a universal interface and an AC gateway. The company’s highlight was its multisensors which will be available in Q2 2025. The standout feature of these is their input-output module, which allows users to have 3 inputs and 2 relay outputs, so small-room integrations can be handled with only one device, reducing costs whilst increasing integration convenience.

PEAKnx showcased three touchpanels from its range that monitor and control the entire process of building automation. These all-in-one smart home solutions include the 8″ Controlmicro, the 11.6″ Control 12 and the 15.6″ Control 16, each featuring its own KNX interface and functioning as a server, IP router, and internal intercom system. All devices are equipped with an in-house-developed YOUVI visualisation, which comes with an app. The Control 16 will be available in Q2/2025. Fully developed and manufactured in Germany, it features a large display, slimmer edges, and enhanced performance. It also offers various mounting and replacement options.

Pulsar Engineering presented its new Thinknx Piccolo 4” touch server. Designed as an entry-level solution for residential buildings, small apartments and hospitality, the Piccolo 4” features a capacitive touchscreen that can also be used with the Thinknx Trend Line dedicated app for remote control of KNX installations. In addition, it has temperature and humidity sensors so it can be used as a common thermostat, and it can be used as an internal intercom station supporting monitoring from any IP camera.

Schneider Electric were addressing two distinct areas, namely homes and buildings. For homes, the SpaceLogic KNX Remote (available from Autumn 2025) offers smart home control and energy management including a new tool that allows the system integrator to securely access and configure KNX projects, along with Schneider Wiser for KNX and spaceLYnk controllers, from anywhere. It also offers optional controller project backup. For buildings, the SpaceLogic KNX showcased Schneider Electric’s full integration capabilities, offering a comprehensive approach to energy monitoring and building management through its secure device-to-cloud solution.

Among the many products on show on the Tantron Group panel, were 27-channel and 24-channel multifunction actuators, a DALI2 gateway, presence sensors, a 6” AMOLED screen, a 10” screen that has integrated KNX and VDP systems, the AUR panel AP, HDMI supporting panels, and Airplay speakers. The highlight was the 27-channel multifunction actuator which is designed to offering exceptional value for money, supporting various functionalities, including switch actuator, curtain actuator, and fan coil actuator. It also integrates dimming, logic, and NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) functions.

Tense presented a selection of sensory switches designed to be unique and exclusive. These are made using a range of high-quality raw materials, that are carefully chosen to suit every style, providing functional, yet decorative products. The switches are designed in Belgium and are handmade in Germany. The unique, natural raw materials make each switch one of a kind.

Theben AG was showing products designed to allow the custom installer to complement inspiring AV with ultimate functionality in the home. Highlights included RF flush-fitting single-channel DALI control with RGB and HCL functions, as well as heating and blinds actuators. Also on show were compact power supplies, dimming and heating control. A highlight was thePrema P360 KNX UP Passive infra-red presence detector for flush-mounted ceiling installation. Available now, it features a square detection area of 360°, 9 x 9m, (81m2) at a mounting height 3m, with three channels of light and two channels of presence.

Weinzierl Engineering GmbH showed a variety of KNX Secure solutions, as well as gateways to the KNX world from Modbus, EnOcean and DMX. A new actuator series was presented, and the absolute highlight was a new KNX TP Push Button 420.1 secure with acoustic feedback, temperature control and multicoloured LEDs. It is available now, and has different tone sequences for maximum flexibility. This enables, for example, a discreet doorbell in individual rooms. The integrated temperature sensor with controller function, means that room temperature control can be conveniently implemented. The controller is suitable for heating, cooling and air conditioning systems.

Conclusion
KNX Association and its member companies should be proud of themselves for putting on such an impressive showing of new and established technologies and products at ISE 2025. There was something for everyone – all presented with enthusiasm and care to a diverse range of visitors from across the smart home and building automation industries. Well done to all involved!
