URC Total Control line now compatible with the world standard network communication protocol for intelligent buildings.
“The MRX-8 has emerged as the price/performance leader in the home automation market. We’re confident that it will become a lynchpin in the KNX world as well,” says Cat Toomey, URC director of marketing.
URC has introduced a two-way control module (driver) that allows Total Control products to be installed in a KNX environment. The KNX module works with most URC Interfaces when using Two-way Commands, Two-way Queries, Device Events and Macro Control. Additionally, its fully compatible with URC Mobile for iOS and URC Mobile for Android (current versions).
The MRX-8 Advanced Network System Controller which joins the MRX-10 (original) and MRX-20 (on-screen GUI). The MRX-8 offers the same small form-factor as the MRX-1 and MRX-2 before it for installs that reside in close quarters.
Additional information about URC’s implementation of the KNX standard can be found in the URC Control Room.
The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) in conjunction with CE Pro magazine recognized the URC MRX-8 as “Automation Device of the Year” at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), in Las Vegas.
Previously, this feature-rich, scalable controller won “Best of Show Awards for CEDIA 2015” from TWICE and from Residential Systems and earned an “EXCITE Award” from Technology Integrator, making it a four-time award winner.
