The Elsner company building won the SmartHome Deutschland Award 2016. The ceremony for the winners took place at the German Ministry of Economy and Energy. The high degree of connectivity and high value of the automation system in user convenience, safety and energy efficiency were the reasons for the “best implemented project” award. The awards are initiated and awarded under the auspices of German federal minister Sigmar Gabriel by SmartHome Initiative Deutschland e.V.
The showpiece in Ostelsheim has been the the location of Elsner Elektronik GmbH since April 2015. The building shows the possibilities opened by an integrated networking of all trades. The building bus system KNX is used for energy-conscious control of shading, ventilation and room temperature, for lighting and media control and for safety-related functions, such as remote monitoring, fire and intrusion protection.
Own products of building automation specialists Elsner Elektronik have been used and combined with solutions from other manufacturers. The wide range of products makes the bus system KNX interesting also for the private builder: over 7,000 products from more than 400 manufacturers worldwide offer future-proof solutions for large and small construction projects.
