The launch of ETS Inside has been accompanied by the largest series of events in the history of KNX. With more than 30 conferences all over the world, in March 2017 the whole KNX community ushered in a new era of working with the worldwide STANDARD of home and building control – in a Smart, Simple and Safe way! More than 1000 ETS Inside Licenses were sold within the first three days of the software’s launch.

Smart home solutions became more mainstream, leading to a change in the whole industry”, comments Franz-Josef Kammerl, President of KNX Association. “With the launch of ETS Inside, KNX not only responds to current market trends, ETS Inside also makes the benefits of the KNX Standard available to more people wanting to realise KNX installations in an easy way, in homes and light commercial buildings. As ETS Inside does not require extensive training, it will surely revolutionise the market and KNX as we know it. It was therefore only right to celebrate this historical launch with a series of events around the globe, putting ETS Inside in the spotlights during the entire month of March”.
The new era in home and building control: ETS Inside
ETS Inside opens up the world of home and building control to more potential users. ETS Inside: it is Smart, Simple, Safe:
Smart – By making the transition from PC to commonly used mobile handhelds, ETS Inside is reshaping how KNX installations are designed and commissioned. As the software can be a permanent part of the installation, only the ETS Inside client app is needed to configure your KNX installation. This app is downloadable from all app stores, i.e. Apple App Store, Google Play Store and Windows Store.
Simple – The user interface is easy-to-understand and lowers the barriers for anyone wishing to benefit from the interoperability of KNX across products of different manufacturers and applications. Without the need for extensive training, newcomers to the smart home market now have the possibility to put a real KNX installation into action, be it in a home, shop or office.
Safe – With support for KNX Secure devices using the worldwide encryption standard AES 128, ETS Inside comes with the highest security features in home and building control. With KNX Data Secure devices communication between devices is protected, with KNX IP Secure, communication across IP is encrypted and authenticated.
More than 30 events all over the world
The worldwide KNX community had been eagerly looking forward to the launch of the ETS Inside. KNX Association declared the month of March 2017 to be the ‘ETS Inside Launch Month’ and the response from all over the world has been tremendous: more than 30 events were scheduled all over the world, from many countries in Europe to Australia, Japan, Korea, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and Argentina.

KNX Association has compiled a comprehensive set of materials, also online, to make sure that every ETS Inside customer can get kick-started with the new tool. Of the many highlights is the new ETS Inside flyers ‘Getting Started’, ‘Features’, ‘Checklist’ and others. Apart from the flyers, KNX Association is currently organising interactive webinars and makes online tutorials as well as videos available.
