We start this issue with a case study by Ewald Burkhart of Elektro Ewald of a Gira-based installation in a holiday lodge in South Tyrol. Next, Simon Buddle suggests that we should be aiming for at least a C grade in energy efficiency in all of our installations. KNXin's Jesús Arias García then encourages the KNX market to look further afield than Europe, and suggests that there is everything to play for internationally.
Our Solutions column by Sophie Thomas of Ivory Egg, looks at KNX in a BMS world, and suggests when and how KNX should be used with other building management systems. This is followed by an Interview with Mehdi Darabi of Parto Negar Parand, whom we met at the recent Light+Building show. With embargoes still on Iran, there are major challenges facing systems integrators, but KNX work is being done, especially in energy-saving applications. Finally, our resident 'Mr Fix It', Dr KNX, deals with a problem in opening the ETS4 database.
Don’t forget that you can comment on any of these articles directly, at the end of the article, and don’t forget too, to send us a picture of you, wherever you may be, with the KNX logo and a smile for our Where is KNX? gallery. Enjoy!
