Hello [NAME]
Welcome back from the holidays! Our articles start with a case study by Philippe Donnet of Défi Technique about the double-award-winning Jewelbox project in Switzerland. This new-build involved control of everything, from car-entry to temperature control of the wine cellar, with green wall and garden watering, lighting, HVAC, security, home cinema, multiroom audio, passive and active energy generation and comprehensive monitoring in between.
This is followed by a country profile on Kuwait by Yousef B. Almutairi of PAAET, in which he explains how the state has been diversifying from oil for some time, and how the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training is actively promoting KNX as the only suitable technology able to facilitate all Kuwaiti market needs.
Next, we have a double offering from Ivory Egg. Colin Price first treats us to some thoughts from down under about winning new business by adopting the KNX of Things, and then we welcome our new regular contributor, Charlotte Blissett-Griffiths, who provides some useful practical examples of KNX-native multiroom audio systems.
Our regular columnist Simon Buddle rounds off the issue with a discussion about how electricians are expanding the KNX market, and the opportunity this gives custom installers to show off their skills.
Don’t forget that you can comment at the end of these articles, and do remember to send us a picture of you, wherever you may be, with the KNX logo and a smile for our 'Where is KNX?' gallery. Enjoy!
