Hello [NAME]
Season's Greetings! In our last newsletter of 2015, we have a special selection of articles, starting with an overview of KNX for assisted living by Stephen Payne of KNX UK. In this, Stephen outlines the functions for which KNX can be used to assist the elderly and disabled, and how it is being applied in practice.
Our regular columnist, Simon Buddle, helps us to make sense of energy savings codes. Given the landmark climate accord that has just been agreed in Paris, it is perhaps ironic that in the UK, a new star system coupled with existing legislation is replacing the Code for Sustainable Homes, but will no longer be mandatory. Nonetheless, Simon argues that a good understanding of codes and regulations will yield benefits to the businesses of KNX professionals.
Next, George Lazos of Quantum KNX++ Training Centre shows how his Lighting Table Tool can make things run smoothly between systems integrators and lighting designers by helping to elicit the right questions from the outset. This is followed by our regular contributor, Charlotte Blissett-Griffiths of Ivory Egg, who reminds us of KNX's amazing achievements over the past 25 years, and what the advantages of the standard are in simplifying the control of complex environments.
I hope you enjoy these articles, and indeed all of those from our many contributors throughout 2015, which are all accessible in our archive. If you would like to contribute an article or have a suggestion for 2016, please get in touch.
All that remains is for me and the team at KNXtoday to thank you for your positive support, comments and feedback, and to wish you a merry Christmas, happy holidays and a prosperous new year!
