Hello [NAME]
As the summer season is here, we start with a case study by ComfortClick's Flavio Sanches of a holiday apartment complex that enjoys enough sunshine (and wind) to generate all of its power requirements. Based in Ankaran in Slovenia, the installation uses KNX for lights, shades, HVAC, water leakage sensors, movement sensors, a weather station, wind direction, energy consumption monitoring, and the swimming pool engine room.
Next, Simon Buddle looks at the different types of blind that can be controlled and automated using KNX. Simon discusses what type of hardware and programming to use, and offers some great advice on practical and aesthetic considerations.
This is followed by Mark Warburton of Ivory Egg, who reminds us of the value of ETS software, and what the benefits are of the latest update, ETS5.5.4. Mark provides useful tips and links on how to update, and how we can all help in the development of ETS.
Finally, we glimpse into the future with Dejan Bukovnik of Voxior, at how we will control our buildings using voice assistants. The article is packed with facts and figures, gives an overview of how voice control works, shows how KNX is an ideal position to help bridge the gap between the connected home and the intuitive interface, and gives some great practical advice.
Don't forget to check out the latest news, as well as the resources section which is packed full of useful information, and don't forget to send us a picture of you, wherever you may be, with the KNX logo and a smile for our 'Where is KNX?' gallery.
