Hello [NAME]
Happy new year! We plunge straight into 2019 with a great selection of articles for you. First, Mike Blackman of Integrated Systems Events explains why the ISE show in Amsterdam, 5-8 February, is a must-attend event for KNX professionals. His article is full of useful information, links and advice, including a special complimentary registration code for KNXtoday readers.
Our regular columnist and KNX expert, Mark Warburton of Ivory Egg, gives some super advice on how to deal with heating systems that have a number of different demands on them. He looks at using logic and central visualisation servers and gives examples of products that can deal with different input states.
Our other regular columnist and professional systems integrator, Simon Buddle, builds on his article of last month about KNX twisted-pair cable, by looking at the pros and cons of using IP data networks in place of twisted-pair as the communications medium for KNX. As usual, he gives some useful examples as well as the benefit of his practical experience.
Proving that KNX is a serious technology for helping to save the planet is a case study by Franco Bonutto of systems integrators Soltris Gebäudesystemtechnik. This focuses on the renovation of a sports centre in Kerenzerberg, Switzerland, where KNX is being used to provide efficiency, safety and comfort by controlling a range of functions, and has been cleverly integrated with the Oracle sports centre booking system in order to save energy by delivering the most efficient lighting according to requirements.
We also have plenty of news at the website, plus the resources section which is packed full of useful documents and videos. If you have any projects you would like us to consider for publication, do get in touch, and don't forget to send a picture of you, your smile and the KNX logo for our 'Where is KNX?' gallery!
